Cross Connection Control Letter

We have received several calls regarding letters being sent out to our customers regarding installation and testing of a backflow device.  We want to assure everyone that these are, in fact, relevant requirements and something that needs to be installed and tested on a regular basis.

The Authority has contracted with NAWSC (National Water Specialties Company) to administer our cross connection and backflow control program.  The initial letters that were sent out, were sent to all of our non-residential customers as well as any residential customers who have a fire suppression system.  These accounts are listed as our “highest threat” level accounts.  Over the next couple of years, all of our customers will be required to have a backflow device installed and tested.

This initial letter is just an introductory letter informing our residents of the program.  You will be receiving additional letters going forward with more information regarding how to locate Certified Backflow Testers, installation and testing requirements.

If you have any questions about the cross connection control program, please call the Cross-Connection Control Department at 844-605-5213 as they will be able to assist.

If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to call the Authority at 215-257-3654.
